Creating a Peaceful Home

- Another Blogger Blog's

I have wanted to learn how to refinish furniture for a very long time. So I finally jumped in to my first project... a Farmhouse Style Table. I must admit... I am very pleased with the way it turned out. I sanded down the previous scratched varnish. Applied primer and a beautiful off-white latex paint. Then I distressed the edges and finished with several layers of polyurethane.

Nice job. I have never refinished furniture. I haven't been lucky enough to find some cool second hand pieces.

It looks really good! The distressing is perfect and will hide any dings and dents that are bound to happen.

Hey! I saw this on DIY showoff and thought it was gorgeous! I am refinishing a little table thing right now and want it to have that distressed look. Did you brush the paint on or spray it? And can you remember what sand paper you used to distress the corners? Thanks for sharing it!
